My experience here!

Hello everyone, today I’m going to talk about my experience learning English at university. Probably this is my last post in this blog because this is the last level here in the university L but well…

My experience here was really productive I think. A chance to practice everything that I learned in level 3 and in the school. Besides I used this class to keep my mind busy, in another world (in FACSO every day you have to read a lot of things so a little bit of time doping something else it is always a blessing.)

I need to improve a lot of things of my vocabulary and grammar, especially things like Past perfect, past perfect continues and al the verbal times.  I have in mind the idea to enter in another class of English outside the university or something like that.

The experience with the blog in general was really helpful and cool but not new.  The first semester I understand how to create a blog and how to write in it. In this class (English lesson level 4) I tried to improve a little bit more my vocabulary and grammar. Also I felt very important, like a celebrity with a lot of followers when I was writing in my blog. I always thought “Oh, a lot of people will read this; I have to make my best effort!” I hope all of this seems reflected on my posts. Besides I really enjoyed reading my classmates posts, their reflections and critical thinking.  On the other hand, I can say I improve my writing skills (well… I don’t know, but I feel I have developed a lot of abilities that I haven’t before). Furthermore I wrote about a lot of things that I didn’t before, so it was a motivation.

These days I’m using my English to read scientific papers and play video games. The first thing because is for the university and the second … well, for playing.

That is all! Thanks for everything!

Goodbye J

Bittersweet

It’s difficult to evaluate this year, because if you ask me today my 2014 is a year really bittersweet.  First I will talk about situations that did not go so well this year and then, to close this topic with some kind of hope I will talk about the good things.

Most of my time that I expend here in the university is relate to academic responsibilities or things like that so my experience is almost limited to that space. I’m really tired and a little bit upset.  I have a lot of things to do but I don’t have time and motivation.  I think I’m not happy at all with this career and I have problems with my future plans. Also, this year was awful for my health, with a lot of accidents and different illness (at least I didn’t catch the Ebola virus).  My best friend is now in the United States (I really miss her, but I’m happy for her) and I haven’t see her boyfriend in a long time (he is my friend too). My family is not having a good time either; we have a lot of problems, and especially in the part of health… bad news I can say L and the relation between us it is getting worse. I can’t do anything because university demands a lot of time, so every day I arrive home late.

However, if we talk about the good experiences, I can say this year I met wonderful people always trying to cheer my up. I did a lot of things that I never had done before, cool things! My birthday was amazing and I really enjoy my trip to Punta Arenas in summer.

In academic results I can say it has been a productive year with good achievements (besides of my vocational crisis) and I have a wonderful boyfriend and friends who are always with me when I really need them.

Well, I need to do some sport this year, I would like to swimming or skating J I haven’t done that yet…

So that is all

Viking Metal ImI

Greetings! Today I’m going to talk about my favorite type of music.

Well, usually I listen to rock, heavy metal, folk (Celtic, Nordic, Irish), progressive rock-metal-folk, etc. I think I like all the possible combinations of these four elements. However, the sound of my heart is heavy… like heavy metal (bad joke). There is a song of Tenacious D, the band of Jack Black who has a song about Metal and I always sing this part: You can't kill the metal. The metal will live onNew wave tried to kill the metal. But they failed as they were stricken down to the ground”.

But today I’m going to refer to one of the genres of heavy metal: Viking Metal, a genre of Black Metal and Folk Metal.

First of all, heavy metal is a genre of rock music that emerged between 60’s and 70’s.  It is recognizable because their extended guitar solos, distortion, heavy drums… a lot of noise for the ears to someone with no taste in good music (I’m totally joking). Black Metal is like… more hardcore. Melodies with faster tempos than traditional heavy metal, a lot of distortion and chaotic lyrics and extreme voices: with screams, guttural sounds or pitchy voices. Initially related to Satanism, misanthropy and anti-Christian and a visual imaginary that cause a lot of polemic. As a rejection to Satanism and occultism to a way to oppose to Christianity, in 1980’s Viking metal was developed as a new opposition from the paganism and Nordic tradition. A fusion between Black Metal and the beauty of Folk music with lyrics associate to Nordic mythology and the “Viking Age”. Battles, swords, paganism and other types of northern landscape are represented in this genre. Is the perfect combination between mythical lyrics, Viking drums and instruments and the power of Black Metal.

I like this kind of music because I’m a fan of the Nordic culture and the “Viking Age”, their mythology is awesome and very complete. Also I like the “noise” and the brutality of Black Metal, is weird I know, but for me is music and I love it.

That is all! Thanks for reading!

Not Green...

Hello everybody, I’m going to talk about the environment. And today’s question is ¿how much green I’m? The answer: I’m not very green. I haven’t included recycle practices to my life yet. But some day, I will recycle my trash, I promise or at least I will try to use different kind of products “eco-friendly” like deodorants who doesn’t harm the ozone cape.

For example, I never use any kind of bike, because I have a special talent for falling down. Nonetheless, I usually walk from mi home to the University I study at, so I don’t contribute with the noise pollution or the pollution itself. That is one of the big problems of Santiago, the big amount of cars and pollution. We need a solution about that, but with this economic system I seem difficult.

I haven’t joined any kind of ecological organization because I don’t have time. The University takes all my time (I don’t have even time to breathe the pollute air sometimes). Anyway, as you probably can see, I’m not kind of a green girl, but anyway, I’m interested in the topic (ok, maybe I’m not), but I have great ideas, like, more bikes, or plants, or trying to burn all the companies that destroys the environment throwing their radioactive waste (well, not to burn exactly because if the companies are nuclear stations, probably if we burn them they will cause a big radioactive explosion or an acid rain. That could mean probably our extinction). Ok, maybe I haven’t great ideas. But what I have, are good intentions.

For example I’m very sad about the fact that polar bears are dying in the North Pole because of the pollution, so, I’m trying to learn and understand all the physical and biological processes that cause the climate change. Maybe with all this information I would think or prepare a possible solution. What have done to reduce my carbon footprint? Perhaps avoiding the use of any type of transport that contributes to generate a lot of pollution and energetically waste. Also I’m eating more fruits than meat. But my problem is the electronics artifacts; they consume a lot of energy. I can say that my carbon footprint is high L.

That is all! Thanks for reading!

Goodbye…

My experience in the field

Hello, today I’m going to talk about my experience in the field. Specifically, about the part of field work. Because the ethnographic method is very important for anthropology, in fact, is the special thing of this discipline. Ethnography means to do a lot of observation of people we don’t know. The objective is to observe other people in their routine and study a process or identify a problem in their cultural context.

Well, my first experience was in Pomaire with my boyfriend for the course “Anthropology II”. We were there all the day and we made contact with a lot of ceramic workers who told us about their dreams, their fears, etc. The difficulty that we had was the initial part of conversations, I mean talk to someone. We didn’t know how to talk with them, how to gain their trust. So we entered in the stores or in their room work and we act like tourist so it was easier because they wanted to sell their ceramics. It was a great experience but too short.

My first true ethnography I did it two weeks ago, in Pocuro, a rural town in Los Andes. I was there during an entire week so I have to move and do a lot of things. I worked with elder people in an investigation about health. Our team went to the houses of a lot of strangers, we ate with them, and we laugh and cry with them. We helped to organise a benefice bingo, we went to their meetings, we met a lot of places and we took a lot of pictures and we made a lot of participant observation. It was a true ethnography experience.  After that I decided I didn’t want to be a social anthropology because I don’t like to talk with people. I felt much stressed and the anxiety consumed me before to try to talk with someone. But I met a lot of nice people, too kind, with a lot of experiences and beautiful stories. I’m really grateful and I promised to come back one day and visit them. It’s the human part of this job, because in the end of all, we are there for that reason, to recollect experiences and stories of humans who see the world in a different way and live their lives trying to be what they really want to be.

Well, that is all! Thanks! Hope you like it.

Goodbye

Cultural shock!

Greetings! Today I’m going to talk about cultural shock.

What is cultural shock? Let me brief you. This concept has a history and I don’t want create confusion about it. This was originally proposed by a Canadian anthropologist named Kalvero Oberg in a congress in Rio de Janeiro.

He said it was a psychological adaptation to a new different culture. If we travel to another country or if we move to another social environment, we could experience this sensation of disorientation.  In fact, this shock may cause a lot of physical and psychological symptoms, like excessive sleep, anger, stress and hostility.  Summarizing, it is the confusion produced by a new language, new customs, unknown expectations and feeling that we draw attention to others.  It is the feeling that we are "different" and foreign.

In anthropological terms, cultural shock doesn’t affects in the same ways adults and children, because kids, in a new culture, go through a different process called acculturation.

In my live I have never experience a cultural shock, at least not a big shock with the terrible consequences that brings with it. But, years ago I had classes in a school from San Juan, Argentina. The uniform was different, the place, the people, everything was different! Even some speak forms was unlike mine. Well, I entered to the room and everyone was staring at me because I was the Chilean girl. The first class was History, Argentinean History. I didn’t know about the dates, the process, and the important character so I felt like out of place.  Like if I didn’t belong there. I feel terrible, but my friends were there to cheer me up, and my classmates were really kind.

An example of cultural shock would it be if we move to Japan forever. First, the impact of a totally different language and writing, second the food, then the people, etc. The impact would cause in us a terrible culture shock with all the symptoms.

Well, that is all, hope you like it! See you next week

Goodbye!

A Perfect Circle at Lollapalooza 2013

Greetings! Today I’m going to talk about the concert of my favorite band nineteen months ago.

First of all, the band I will talk about came to the Lollapalooza in 2012. This is a very important event in the world; usually, the sponsors bring a lot of bands and they play their music in different stages all day long. Here in Chile, they mount the show in Parque O’higgins. It is really cool but too expensive.

A few months before the big concert, in the internet announced that “A perfect circle” the band of Maynard (the vocalist of Tool), was in the setlist of guest artists. A Perfect Circle (I robbed the name for my blog) is basically an alternative rock band disguised in metal and progressive styling. I almost died, because they didn’t want to come to Chile until that moment. I was so excited! But I had big problem... I didn’t have enough money to buy a ticket. My father, trying to buy a toaster on internet, won a ticket. He called to my sister to give her the ticket because he didn’t want it, but I cried around the house so desperately… he saw me, and smiling he gave me the ticket.

I went to the concert with my ex-boyfriend. I met a lot of new bands there and I really had a great time. I ran to the stage and I waited with all the fans. They were more excited than me; in fact they waited for almost ten year listen to this band in a live show. They arrived and played my favorites songs! I sang, I shouted, I cried, it was an amazing experience. They promised to return some day, but with this opportunity I felt paid. I will never forget this.

That is all! Thanks for reading! Hope you like it!

A place that 'd like to visit

Greetings! Today I’m going talk about a country I’d like to visit.  I would like to go to Germany because is a country with a huge and terrible history. When I was a little girl, one of my hobbies was read about the first and the second world war, I felt really scared and amazed of this country so I always dream about one day have the chance to visit it.

What do I know about it? I’m not that good in geography, like districts, but I know a lot about the Holy Roman Empire or the Prussian wars. Also I study the culture post-second world war and all the transformation of this society. It is a unique place.

Also it has a lot of beautiful places, for example the Newschwanstein’s castle, the city of Heidelberg, and old village in the top of a hill, Munich, Hamburg, etc.

I’d like to study, work and live there, because is a country with a lot of possibilities and it would be an excellent experience and a chance to know more about Germany and their people.

Goodbye!.

Why did i choose to study...

Greetings! Today I’m going to talk about why did I choose to study anthropology/archaeology.

It is a very difficult question because I don’t have any idea why did I choose this career. Seriously, the same day I send the apply form to enter to university I picked anthropology. I was very confused because in that point I couldn’t decide what to do. I thought in first place to study History, Sociology, Politic science, Astronomy (It was a dream but I failed miserably in math). Even though, my original plan was follow the diplomatic career or something like that.  But my family convinced me that anthropology was for me and it could give me more money in the future in compare of my others options (really?). I regret nothing, I promise.

What did I know about this career that I attracted me? Well, when I was a little girl, I usually read a lot about religion, compared religions specifically. I remember learning and reading about different cultures. Then I gave up into mythology when I was a teenager. Finally, I fell in love with Scandinavians cultures and their archaeology. But it was only a dream. I heard about anthropology in 2010, because one of my friends picked this career and he tried to convince me to study with him. But I wasn’t that sure, I had other interests so it was complicated.

Why university of Chile? I’ve heard that they have the best archaeology school in the country so I checked the study plan and I liked it. Two years of basic courses and then the specialization. No more reasons.

That’s all! Hope you like it!

See you next week, bye!

Holidays!

Holidays!

Yey today I will talk about my plans for these holidays!

In a parallel universe I am already on vacations J -cries- well, I haven’t finished my classes so I my vacations are really really far away, but I have a lot of plans when they arrive and my dreams come true (A happy life with eternal holidays and money).

Well, first I will sleep an entire week to recover all the beautiful time wasted in awful things and boring activities (Like study, go to the university, etc). Then, I will destroy all my notebooks and any evidence of work (papers, investigations, whatever). In third place, I will eat a lot of chocolate and candies destroying my diet. Finally, but not least, I will watch movies and series, I will go out with my friends and have a really good time with them J

Where I will like to travel?  Uhm, I will like to travel to my bed, to my kitchen and the living room. In fact I don’t want to move anymore, my trips will it be only in a virtual world.  Nah, just kidding, the best place in the world to go on holidays (winter holidays in this case) is Finland or Norway… a place with snow c: (I don’t have money to go there, only in my dreams) because it would be so nice! Been there, drinking hot chocolate and having a war of snowball c:. I would travel with my friends and my boyfriend! It would be really awesome  J

My ideal holidays… ETERNAL HOLIDAYS. But it is impossible L well, at least I still have vacations… my poor father have to work all the year with no rest >_< .

Well, hope you like it!

See you next year!.

Blog Blog Blog! Last Post!

Hello people! Unfortunately this is my last blog entry L so I hope you like it and thanks for everything, it was a great experience. I’ve never done something like this before, so I appreciate this opportunity to talk about all the things that I learned doing this blog posts almost every week in this semester.

This experience in general was really helpful and cool. Finally I understand how to create a blog and how to write in it. Also I feel very important, like a celebrity with a lot of followers when I was writing in my blog. I always thought “Oh, a lot of people will read this; I have to make my best effort!”. I hope all of this seems reflected on my posts. Besides I really enjoyed reading my classmates posts, their reflections and critical thinking.

For the other hand, I can say I improve my writing skills (well… I don’t know, but I feel I have developed a lot of abilities that I haven’t before) It is really amazing.

What I would like to include in the future? I don’t know maybe more topics… oh! I would like to see more audio-visual things, like include songs or videos in the entries! It would be more dynamic and entertaining.
What else I would like to write about? About my friends, my pets, my favourites bands and songs, my favourite food, my favourite actor… my list is infinite! J

That is it! Goodbye!

Cheers for everyone J

Brazil

Greetings! Today I’m going to talk about Brazil and the world cup. I know Germany will win the cup; it is the best team ever!

But… I have big troubles with this world cup. Maybe if I explain to you, you will understand.

Brazil is the largest country in South America. Bounded on the east by the Atlantic Ocean and bordered by all countries in this part of the American continent except for Chile and Ecuador. It is the world's largest Portuguese speaking country and it belonged to Portugal until its independence in 1822. It has an enormous population: 190 million people approximately and everyone knows how to play football soccer (just joking).

Politically, Brazil is a federal state, in fact, is a federal presidential representative democratic republic. And the head of government and of the state is the President. 2010 was elected the current president Dilma Roseuff.  However, Brazil was unable to solve their biggest problems related to delinquency, poverty, violence and corruption disrupting the quality of life of people who lives in slums, the famous “Favelas”. Also, the executive power was unable to control the economic crisis and all the problems about representation. In this controversial context, Brazil was chosen to host the World Cup in 2014 creating a lot of chaos, killings and protests thanks to the number of implemented measures that were catastrophic for the people and their lives, like tax hike for public transport, “cleaning people” in the favelas and destruction.  In my opinion, I have to admitted, I like a lot the world cup even thought is a big mafia by FIFA and contributes to the "bread and circuses" to keep people busy while important things are decided. Besides the major problems that affect most of countries thanks to neoliberalism are forget. For Brazil, it is very harmful and awful. It was the worst choice. People are suffering a lot and that destroy the essence of football soccer (also the existence of FIFA does it too and the fact that girls cannot play the world cup ¬¬).

That is all, hope you like it.

Goodbye!

Claude Lévi-Strauss

Greetings! Today I’m going to talk about one of the most famous anthropologist in the world: Claude Lévi-Strauss.  He is the father of structural anthropology and anthropology of kinship.

First I must say his theories are not my favourite ones but he deserves all the respect of the world, he had an amazing mind and his ideas provoked a big revolution in anthropology, especially in the field of mythology and kinship studies.

He born in 1908 in Brussels, Belgium but he grew up in Paris. First he studied law and philosophy but he only continued with the last one. He took part in a mission to Brazil and there he did his first ethnological investigation.  These experiences gave him the opportunity to do more researches in this field and a chance to prove his skills in a lot of complexes areas of the human being: Kinship structure, the savage mind, mythology, linguistics, etc. He thought that savages mind works in a rational way, despites of the prejudices of the occidental mind about the primitive stage of these cultures.  Also he said that all the myths in the world have the same structural function, in fact, all the myths can reduce in only one but it has different forms. Another famous theory is about kinship and the importance of the incest in the transition to the nature to culture stage.

He wrote a lot of books and he sets the principles of modern anthropology with his structural analyses and theories.  He died very young –sarcasm- with only 101 years in October of 2009.  I like him because his way to analyse all this things is very impressive, and when you read him (if you understand something! Is almost impossible comprehend what he is saying!) you can realize the significance of his work in social science.

That is all! Hope you like it! See you soon…

Goodbye!

My favorite movie

Greetings! Today I’m going to talk about my favorite movie.  It is a very important movie to me because it represents part of my twisted childhood, I first watched in 2005 I think, in my house. It is called “The Nightmare before Christmas”(1993) directed by Henry Selick and produced by the famous Tim Burton (He isn’t the director but people usually think he is). Also the music was made by Danny Elfman, a talented composer and singer. In fact, in the movie he provides the singing voice of the main character.

The Nightmare before Christmas is one of the first stop motion film (This means that the characters and the scenarios were made in real life with a lot of materials and manipulated objects, but they appear to move by they own thanks to a sequence of photography’s).

What is this movie about? The plots centers in a Halloween world and in Christmas world.  Cute citizens (vampires, monsters, creepy dolls, witches, etc.) work all the year to prepare the scariest holiday ever: Halloween. They have a leader, “The pumpkin king” who is the king of the town. His name is Jack Skellington and he is a living skeleton.  He is tired of the same routine every year and one day in the graveyard he gets into the wood and he finds a portal to the Christmas world. Fascinated with all the things that he saw in that new world, he returns to his world and tries to create his own Christmas usurping the role of Santa, provoking a real chaos in both worlds.

Why do I like the movie? I love the esthetic of the film, the cuteness and love in the characters and the entire plot.  This film taught to me a lot of beautiful things about fears, dreams and the true meaning of love. Exceptional soundtrack too!

I really recommended … hope you like it!

OMG THE BEST PICTURE EVA!

Greetings! Today I’m going to show you the best picture ever! It’s a “selfie” taken by me with a notebook two years ago. I think it was in vacations, I don’t remember well.  The best of this photograph is not the photo itself, the funny thing is what happened to this picture after being taken… But not that fast! I’m going to tell you in a minute everything you need to understand this magic moment…

What is this about?  You may ask. Well, my friends and I wanted to participate in the cast of the Hobbit (The new Peter Jackson movies), but we needed to send a picture of us characterizing the main character of The Lord of the Rings (A Dwarf called Gimli, an Elf called Legolas, a Human called Aragorn and a wizard called Gandalf) with all the costumes and stuffs. We didn’t have enough money for that, so we used our imagination to find a solution.

That’s right! The magic of MS paint (the virtual program) strikes again! We “photoshopped” the picture and we created the most beautiful art work, worthy of an Academy award (Best visual effect, make up, soundtrack (?) and motion picture of course). But our art was misunderstood and we were humiliated (with many memes). However, with our magical powers we took revenge and now we controlled all the industries of Hollywood and Photoshop… Actually not, we don’t care about the trolls and until today we expect Peter Jackson to respond.

(None of this is real, but please don’t tell to my fans)

So, this is the story of my favorite picture! Hope you like it! Enjoy

To Hogwarts! (Places I'd like to visit)

Hello wizards and witches! Today I’m going to talk about THE place I’d like to visit. Please take a sit and enjoy this magical journey to the best place in the world (or fictional world if you are a “mature”-boring- person). That’s right; we are going to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a British school for magic students created by J.K Rowling for the Harry Potter’s books.

Where is Hogwarts located? Well… if you are a wizard/witch you can find this huge medieval castle somewhere in Scotland (but if you are just a muggle –non magical person-… sorry, you will never be able to see it)

Why do I want to go there? Is obviously. I am a witch and I want to learn new magical spells, create powerful potions, transform things, and defend myself against the dark arts…

Just kidding... Actually, it  is a beautiful place, with a loch called The Black Lake and a dangerous forest with magical creatures called The Forbidden forest. Also it has extensive grounds and other outbuildings, like Hagrid’s house. But the best of all is the full size Quidditch pitch! (Quidditch is the most important sport in this world).

I would like to go with my best friend Camila, because she is the best witch in the world! She has a powerful nordic dragon and a time turner. Indeed... we must go soon to Diagon Alley to buy our list of supplies: a lot of potions, a cauldron, spell books, a wand, and owl, our tunics, etc. before school starts (We were admitted in Hogwarts this year J)

We are going to travel in September 1st (that day the classes begin) but we need time to arrive early, because we have to take a plane from Santiago to London and then we have to board the Hogwarts express from platform 9 ¾ in King’s cross station. The train leaves at 11 o’clock so, we can’t be late! The train leaves us in a town near Hogwarts called Hogsmeade. If you are and old student, you have to take a carriage pulled by Thetrals (a magical invisible horse) but if you are in your first year, a key’s keeper will guide you to a boat and you will be able to cross the lake. Both ways will take you to the entrance of the castle.

So this is it… I hope to see you there too! Maybe we will be classmates! I would like to be with you in the same house (Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff or Slytherin).

Goodbye! Finite Incantatem!

Post 3: Technology!

Greetings!

Today I’m going to talk about technology!  My favourite electric-metal-whatever thing is my iPod.  It is a portable media player, an artefact used to store all the music you like most.  In my fourteenth’s birthday (almost six years ago) my parents gave me a little box with a blue IPod inside. I was so happy!  Since then, I use my iPod almost every day and every hour until now. When I must go to the university, most of time I have to walk a lot, so this peculiar technologic thing is my only company. Also when I have to study or when I can’t get any sleep at night (sometimes I need to listen a lullaby to calm myself down and go back to Morfeo’s arms) … I can say my IPod helps me when I’m sad or tired. Funny, don’t you think?

I like it because it is small, portable, resistant (is the first delicate object in my life that I still keep it barely intact) and adorable, yes adorable… like a cute piece of blue metal. Easy to handle and it has a cool interface.

Life without my iPod would be so boring and terrible (not joking). I can’t live without music L… not any kind of music (in that case it wouldn’t be a problem not having and iPod) is MY music what I need. And it is all there, in that piece of metal full of cables and electricity. Can you imagine?

Maybe my iPod is old and probably useless nowadays (it is an ancient version of apple’s iPods, one of the first ones I believe) but it is important to me, one of the best presents I have received!

No more to say… See you next post!

Invincible! (Second Post)

Greetings! This day I’m going to talk about of my expectations for this new semester. It seems to be more difficult than the past one and you need to know why…

I am studying anthropology, and it’s my second year… I love my career but this semester I have six subjects (the past semester I only got five) and one of them is a true nightmare… I’m talking about statistics, a sort of mathematical chaos. It is too awful for me. So I need to do a lot of exercises every day to improve my skills on that area (If I work hard I will have the chance to pass the course… I think). I’m a little bit too obsessed with marks and studies in general so I’m working really hard this semester
J but it’s okay, big rewards awaits for those who gives everything to do their best.

Also I am teaching assistant of two courses!  It is madness but I think is a great challenge and an opportunity to help other people with their courses. Besides, is a chance to learn how to teach and prepare the classes. I’m not very good at that but I hope to improve soon
J. On the other hand, I really hate correcting  tests and put marks (but i have skills for that)… so I’m trying to be nice with the new students! After all they are in their first year.

Well… I didn’t take optional subjects or extracurricular activities, because my time is limited. In fact, I’m trying to do some sport to be in good shape (Like a perfect circle…oh, but it is a kind of shape after all, no?)

So, this is my semester… I think i will die.  However, it will be an amazing experience! After all is what I choose.

Tell my family I love them! Goodbye!

A Little about me :)

Oh Hi! My name is Amapola Saball López, I’m nineteen years old and I’ve studying here in the University of Chile since 2013.  How did I get here? Well… let’s talk about my life (I think nobody cares but whatever).

I was born in October 13th, on a beautiful spring day. I’m from Santiago, Chile and I have always lived here. I studied at Liceo Manuel de Salas and finally graduated in 2012. Then I passed the PSU and I was able go to the university and study anthropology, my big passion. I hope to work with a lot of people! Is a beautiful career, with a lot of information and hard work. I picked this career because i would like to travel, explore the world and new cultures. So I need to speak a lot of languages. Well, that is why I take this clase, because english is very important nowadays and it is a interesting language. Now in the world most of people use english for utility. So is useful learn it now when we are young. I spent a lot of time reading books in english, because a lot of texts aren’t in spanish and its difficult find a good translator.  I think speaking in English is more difficult than reading even translate, because in some ways the words sounds different and the pronunciation is weird, but it is an amazing accent, it is sounds funny.

The responsible for bringing me into this world are the same people who made me clean the bathroom every day (household that I hate) Yes, I’m talking about my parents, Jaime and Alma. They are good people and the make me feel secure, I love them so much and they love me too but they are very strict and sometimes really annoying . Both are the same age, 51 years old. My mother is a housewife and my father works managing buildings. Also I have a sister who is older than me; Amaranta is her name and she is very smart and funny (despite she is a crazy psychologist) is a great family.

Talking about my hobbies, I like listen to music, I love metal… A perfect circle, Ayreon, Rammstein are my favorites bands. But usually I listen (and sing) almost every kind of music. About sports I like to play football its too awesome! But I hate tennis; it’s bored, expensive and difficult.  Despite of sports I like to go out with my friends, always in friday evening we go to the cinema, because is cooler than go and watch movies in our homes, also we play videogames, we like to sing and do a lot of stupid things.

Hope you like it! Goodbye
