A place that 'd like to visit

Greetings! Today I’m going talk about a country I’d like to visit.  I would like to go to Germany because is a country with a huge and terrible history. When I was a little girl, one of my hobbies was read about the first and the second world war, I felt really scared and amazed of this country so I always dream about one day have the chance to visit it.

What do I know about it? I’m not that good in geography, like districts, but I know a lot about the Holy Roman Empire or the Prussian wars. Also I study the culture post-second world war and all the transformation of this society. It is a unique place.

Also it has a lot of beautiful places, for example the Newschwanstein’s castle, the city of Heidelberg, and old village in the top of a hill, Munich, Hamburg, etc.

I’d like to study, work and live there, because is a country with a lot of possibilities and it would be an excellent experience and a chance to know more about Germany and their people.

Goodbye!.

Why did i choose to study...

Greetings! Today I’m going to talk about why did I choose to study anthropology/archaeology.

It is a very difficult question because I don’t have any idea why did I choose this career. Seriously, the same day I send the apply form to enter to university I picked anthropology. I was very confused because in that point I couldn’t decide what to do. I thought in first place to study History, Sociology, Politic science, Astronomy (It was a dream but I failed miserably in math). Even though, my original plan was follow the diplomatic career or something like that.  But my family convinced me that anthropology was for me and it could give me more money in the future in compare of my others options (really?). I regret nothing, I promise.

What did I know about this career that I attracted me? Well, when I was a little girl, I usually read a lot about religion, compared religions specifically. I remember learning and reading about different cultures. Then I gave up into mythology when I was a teenager. Finally, I fell in love with Scandinavians cultures and their archaeology. But it was only a dream. I heard about anthropology in 2010, because one of my friends picked this career and he tried to convince me to study with him. But I wasn’t that sure, I had other interests so it was complicated.

Why university of Chile? I’ve heard that they have the best archaeology school in the country so I checked the study plan and I liked it. Two years of basic courses and then the specialization. No more reasons.

That’s all! Hope you like it!

See you next week, bye!
